Frequently asked questions
Does my tip enter both championships?
Yes. An eligible tip automatically counts towards the relevant sport’s seasonal championship and the annual All Sports championship. No separate championship registration is required.
How is profit in units calculated?
Units measure your tipping performance. For a winning tip, profit equals stake × (decimal odds − 1). A 1-unit tip at $1.80 earns 0.80 units of profit; a losing 1-unit tip records a loss of 1 unit. Returned stakes are not profit. Voided tips add no profit or loss.
What happens to a draw, void or postponed match?
Your stake is returned with no profit or loss for voids, postponed matches and draws where a draw was not an available selection.
How are tied prize positions paid?
The prizes for the positions occupied by tied entrants are combined and split equally. For example, two entrants tied for fifth share the fifth-place $1,000 prize and receive $500 each.
Where can I find the odds and stake rules?
Your permitted stake range is shown on the tip slip when you enter. For the full odds and stake rules, read the Likely odds framework guide on our website.
When does the All Sports championship run?
All Sports runs from 1 January to 31 December, measured in UTC. League championships follow their sport’s season and cover the regular season and finals, where applicable. The prize calendar shows the season for each championship. Check each competition’s details for exact opening and closing times.
A match counts towards a championship if its start time falls within that championship’s published period. Results may settle after closing; final standings and prizes are confirmed once all eligible results have settled.

- ENTRY LIMITOne complete entry per user

Typically, each winning selection earns one point. Entrants with the most correct selections rank first. Where totals or margins are required, the lowest combined prediction error breaks ties. Each challenge publishes its scoring method.
- EVENT CHANGESVoids depend on the format
A cancelled, postponed or void single-event challenge is voided and closed. In a group challenge, the affected matchup is removed from scoring and the remaining matchups continue.

Frequently asked questions
Which locations are eligible?
Free and Pro members aged 18+ can participate. All Australian states and territories, including ACT, may be included. Location eligibility is set separately for each challenge based on its prize pool and is shown before entry.
How are margin and total tie-breaks calculated?
If entrants have the same number of correct selections, their margin or total predictions can decide who finishes higher. We add up how far each prediction was from the actual result. The entrant with the smallest total difference ranks higher.
For example, if you predict a winning margin of 10 points and the actual margin is 13, your difference is 3. If another prediction is off by 5, your total difference is 8.
Some stats-total challenges rank entrants by the closest prediction alone. Check the individual challenge’s rules to see which method applies.
What happens if a player never participates?
A single-player challenge is voided if the player does not participate. For a period-based challenge, such as an October player-stat total, it is voided if the player takes part in no matches during that period. In a group challenge, an affected player matchup is removed from scoring.
What if a player is injured or suspended after participating?
For a period-based player-stat challenge, once the player has participated in a match during the specified period, the challenge continues even if they later become injured, suspended or miss matches. Their results within the period determine the outcome; the closest prediction wins under the challenge’s scoring rules.
What happens if a match is drawn?
Where offered, a draw is a valid prediction. If a draw is not offered, the drawn matchup is removed from scoring. A single-event challenge with no valid outcome is voided and closed.
What happens if a match is cancelled or postponed?
A single-game challenge is voided and closed. Within a group challenge, that matchup is removed from the overall score and the rest of the competition continues.
What happens when winners are still tied?
Cash prizes for the positions occupied by tied entrants are combined and divided equally. For membership prizes, each tied winner receives the full membership prize.
Can I change an entry or submit another one?
You have one entry per challenge. You can edit it until the published lockout. Once locked, the challenge accepts no new entries or edits.
Where can I track a challenge and collect a prize?
The Prediction Challenges dashboard shows upcoming, in-play and completed competitions. Open a challenge for its status and results. Winners are notified by email and through their account and claim through account settings.

Use the tip slip to add a selection to your chain. You can also enter that selection into Tipster Championships.

A win adds a link and unlocks your next pick. Your longest chain stays on record even after a loss. Keep building a new chain to beat your personal best.
Likely Chain Challenge rule sheet
Eight essentials for building your longest winning chain. Competition dates are to be confirmed.
- ELIGIBILITYAn account is all you need
Free and Pro Likely Sports account holders aged 18+ can enter. All Australian states and territories are eligible.
- ENTRYAdd your selection to your chain
Enter through the odds screen and choose the chain option on the tip slip. All sports and markets count. Select the chain, Tipster Championships or both; stakes do not affect chain results.
- PICK LIMITOne chain. One unsettled pick.
You can have only one active chain and one unsettled selection at a time. Wait for the current pick to settle before submitting the next.
- ODDSMinimum $1.10 per selection
Every selection must have decimal odds of $1.10 or higher. There is no minimum average odds requirement and no maximum chain length. Average winning odds is used only to break ties between equal-length chains.
- LOCKOUTEdit or remove before match start
You can edit or remove a selection before its match starts. Once the match starts, it is locked and cannot be changed.
- RESULTSA loss breaks your active chain
A win adds one link. A loss resets your active chain to zero, but your longest chain remains on record. Genuine voids, postponed events, draws with no draw option and non-participating players remove the selection without adding a win or breaking your chain. Restart immediately after a loss; attempts are unlimited during the competition.
- WINNINGYour longest chain counts
The user with the longest unbroken winning chain achieved at any point during the competition wins the $100,000 prize pool. A chain still counts if it is later broken or remains active at the deadline. Equal lengths are ranked by average odds across that chain’s winning selections; remaining ties share the pool equally.
- COMPETITION PERIODKeep building until the deadline
Start and end dates are to be confirmed. A selection counts when its match starts within the published competition period, even if it finishes after closing. Eligible pending selections are settled before the winner is confirmed. The competition runs for its full period, with no maximum chain length or early finish at 100 wins.
Frequently asked questions
How is the winner determined?
Your longest winning chain across eligible selections counts, whether it is later broken or still active at closing. If you achieve the same best length more than once, the chain with the highest average winning odds counts. Your personal best remains on record after a loss.
Is there a minimum average odds requirement?
No. Each selection must have odds of at least $1.10, but there is no qualifying average odds threshold. Average odds across the winning selections in a chain is used only as a tie-breaker.
What happens if users have the same longest chain?
For equal-length chains, add the decimal odds of the winning selections and divide by the number of wins. The higher average ranks first. Voided selections are excluded. If length and average odds are still tied, the $100,000 pool is divided equally among the tied winners.
Does reaching 100 wins end the competition?
No. There is no maximum chain length. The competition stays open until its published deadline, and users can continue building beyond 100 wins. There are no milestone prizes at this stage.
What happens to draws, voids or postponed matches?
Genuine voids, postponed matches, draws where a draw option was not offered and players who do not participate are treated as void selections. The selection is removed, your chain stays at its previous length and you can make your next eligible pick.
Can I enter multiple picks or run multiple chains?
No. Each user has one active chain and only one unsettled selection. After a loss, you may start another attempt immediately. There is no limit on attempts during the competition period.
Can my pick also enter Tipster Championships?
Yes. The tip slip lets you choose the chain, Tipster Championships or both. A championship tip must also meet that competition’s requirements. Staking is not relevant to the chain.
When does the challenge start and end?
Dates are to be confirmed and will be published before entry opens. Eligibility is based on match start time. A pick whose match starts within the competition period still counts if it finishes afterwards. A match starting outside that period does not count, even if the pick was submitted before closing. Eligible pending picks are settled before final standings and prizes are confirmed. The competition does not close early when a user reaches a particular chain length.
How is the winner verified and paid?
Likely Sports contacts the winner directly using their account details. Additional verification, including age checks, may be required before payment. This follows a dedicated winner-verification process rather than the usual account claim prompts.
